About the artwork In the main auditorium building of the Department of Physics, one of the most famous alumni and professors of ETH Zurich is immortalised in this bust by Hermann Hubacher: Albert Einstein (1879–1955). Although the sculpture is on the boundary between stylisation and individualised characterisation, Einstein himself cuts an instantly recognisable figure.
