Biomechanoid Cube, 2002

Biomechanoid Cube, 2002

H.R. Giger (1940–2014)

About this artwork

The Biomechanoid Cube represents the brain of “Ada – the Intelligent Space”, originally a contribution by the Institute of Neuroinformatics at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich to Swiss Expo 02. Here, the artist H. R. Giger, the leading proponent of fantastic realism in Switzerland, portrays the neuron-structured information processing of the human brain as complex structures on the surface of a cube.
