Bust Elias Landolt, 1899 About the artwork The monument to Elias Landolt (1821-1896), ETH Zurich Professor and senior forestry official of the Canton of Zurich, which was erected at the behest of the Swiss Forestry Association, is a tribute to Landolt as a forestry teacher at the Federal Polytechnic School (now ETH Zurich). It also commemorates his outstanding service to forestry in the Canton of Zurich and Switzerland as a whole. The work by Ticino sculptor Raimondo Pereda was unveiled at a ceremony in the garden of the Institute of Agriculture and Forestry building in 1899.
